March for Babies, Saturday, April 26th, 2008.

I want to take a moment to remind everyone about the March for Babies coming up on Saturday. My sister's daughter, Bryn, was born on January 15th, 2008, one month premature. She had underdeveloped lungs and pneumonia, and spent a full two weeks in the NICU at Genesis East. It was a very scary time for our family. March for Babies (through the March of Dimes) "champions the needs of moms and babies in our community and across the nation. The money we raise for March for Babies will support lifesaving research, services, education and advocacy that help babies get a healthy start."

Research for the drug Surfactant, which was administered to my sweet little niece and saved her life, was funded by the March of Dimes. Without Surfactant, Bryn may never have come home. What a scary thought. Our family feels it's vital to support the March of Dimes in their efforts to prevent premature birth, birth defects, and infant mortality. Please help us by marching with us this weekend. A minimum donation of $10 is asked if you participate in the march. If you can't march with us, please donate to this worthwhile cause. To sign up for the march (be sure to be on Baby Bryn's team) or to donate click this link:
